Our work serves the purpose of the organization and helps solve the world’s problems. But each person has an individual purpose as well, a meaningful and unique contribution they desire to make. Engaging leaders look for ways to encourage and nurture individual purpose with each of their team’s projects.
A “Greater Yes” contribution happens when the team’s work serves the organization’s purpose while also allowing each team member to make a meaningful and unique contribution in the process.
To be fully engaged, each member of the team needs opportunities to contribute work they find personally meaningful.
Consider a project you’re currently leading. What action can you take this week to better understand what a meaningful contribution represents for each member of the team, including for yourself?
